European Gaming Congress: A Remarkable Comeback

The European Gaming Congress is back and better than ever after a two-year break! Join Trueplay in the vibrant city of Warsaw on October 30–31, 2023, for one of the most anticipated events in the iGaming industry. Compliance experts, regulators, and professionals from Poland, Italy, Spain, France, and other countries will gather to discuss the recent updates on industry regulation.

Location: InterContinental Warsaw, an IHG Hotel (Warsaw, Poland)

As the world of iGaming continues to grow, so do the legislative and regulatory challenges this dynamic sector faces, shaping the context around the European Gaming Congress in 2023.

In preparation for the EGC, we had the privilege of speaking with Zoltán Tűndik, one of the co-founders of Hipther, the organization behind it. Our conversation delves into the evolution of the event, highlights that await the attendees, and several pieces of advice on how to get the most out of this event.

How has the European Gaming Congress evolved over the years to meet the changing needs and expectations of industry professionals and stakeholders?

Zoltán Tűndik: In my view, the emphasis on real-time regulatory updates, hands-on compliance guidance, and fostering meaningful networking opportunities has become crucial, and we use it as a foundation for this event.

Additionally, this year, the Congress has placed a heightened focus on jurisdictions that are often overlooked, ensuring an understanding of the European gaming landscape. Our event uniquely covers areas that undergo significant changes throughout the year, which aren’t addressed at other Hipther events like the Prague Gaming & TECH Summit or the MARE BALTICUM Gaming & TECH Summit.

Can you share some highlights that attendees can look forward to at the European Gaming Congress?

Zoltán Tűndik: The European Gaming Congress in Warsaw promises an insightful day for attendees. We’ve ensured a fulfilling schedule for our guests.

One of the specials will be a panel discussion on the Polish iGaming market. Experts will go over the current situation of the iGaming sector in Poland, telling us about recent regulations, market trends, and challenges present.

Another intriguing session will focus on the iGaming markets of Greece, Spain, Ukraine, and Portugal. This discussion will provide attendees with an in-depth understanding of these markets, particularly regulatory changes, growth potential, and industry issues.

There will also be a discussion around the convergence of cybersecurity, responsible gaming, AI, and AML in the gaming industry. This panel will emphasize the importance of a secure, ethical, and sustainable environment in the gaming sector. This session will be joined by Trueplay CBO Alex Antsyferov. I hope he’ll enjoy this panel and share lots of fresh ideas.

Have you prepared something brand-new for this year’s Congress?

Zoltán Tűndik: Yes, actually, this year at the European Gaming Congress, we’ll have the debut of the European iGaming Excellence Awards. As the name suggests, their purpose is to celebrate excellence by honoring the companies that have made major contributions to the European iGaming scene.

The EiGE Awards will provide an exceptional experience for industry leaders, innovators, and influencers. Hipther has introduced 15 streamlined award categories, emphasizing the most critical aspects of iGaming operations, to honor the best companies in Europe for 2023.

For businesses and professionals interested in attending, what advice do you have to help them get the most out of the European Gaming Congress?

Zoltán Tűndik: Attending the European Gaming Congress can be a highly beneficial experience for professionals in the iGaming industry. But what I noticed is that sometimes they skip the part of preparation where they schedule their time in advance, which results in stress instead of enjoying the event. So it’s better to review the event agenda beforehand and identify the sessions and panels that are the most relevant to your business or professional interests.

The connections people make at an event can be invaluable for future collaborations, so don’t forget about networking.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to attend the iGaming industry’s most significant event. Mark your calendars for October 30–31, 2023, and join us in Warsaw at the InterContinental Hotel for the European Gaming Congress

We look forward to meeting you. Join us and become a part of something extraordinary!
